National Institute of Technology Patna was formerly known as the Bihar College of Engineering Patna, a constituent engineering College under Patna University, until 27th Jan 2004. It was rechristened NIT Patna on 28th Jan 2004 as an Autonomous Institute under the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India. The Institute imparts high-level education, training, research, and development in Science, Engineering, Architecture & Planning, Humanities & Social Sciences and Technology along with high-quality education and values at UG, PG, and Ph.D. levels.
